Program

ClearStars operates a text messaging program for people who ask to be contacted by text. Messages are sent by ClearStars.

This program is being registered with the messaging carriers and is not sending messages yet. This page describes how it will work and exists so you, and the carriers reviewing it, can read the terms before anything is sent.

The two kinds of message, and they are separate

We ask for consent twice, because they are different permissions and you may give one without the other.

Transactional messages are about something you asked us for: alerts, reminders, confirmations, and notifications relating to your request, your application, or your account.

Marketing and promotional messages are about our products, services, events, and research.

Ticking one box does not tick the other, and we will not send you one kind under consent you gave for the other.

How you opt in

By ticking a box on a form on clearstars.ai and providing a mobile number.

Both boxes are unticked when the page loads. Neither is required. Neither blocks the form from submitting, and consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchase or of anything else we do. Entering a phone number on its own does not opt you in.

You must be 18 or older, be in the United States, and be the subscriber of the number or authorized to consent for it.

Frequency, cost, and carriers

Message frequency may vary.

Message and data rates may apply. What your carrier charges is between you and your carrier.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your device, and we cannot promise either.

Supported on major United States carriers. Carrier support can change without notice to us.

How to stop, and how to get help

Reply STOP to any message to stop that program. We will send one confirmation that you have been removed, and then nothing further.

You can also ask us to remove your number using those contact details, and you do not have to have received a message first.

Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your text message consent or opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. The only third party that receives it is the messaging provider that delivers messages on our behalf, and only so it can deliver them.

We keep a record of the consent you gave, including the exact wording shown to you at the time, so we can evidence it later. Our Privacy Policy explains what that record contains and how long we keep it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top tells you when the current version took effect. If a change materially affects the messages you have agreed to receive, we will tell you before it takes effect.
