Pedro Cerrate

Background

Pedro Cerrate is Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of ClearStars, where he leads project management and executive operations and partners with Founder and CEO Bert J. Rico on marketing and sales. He brings the discipline, accountability, and people-first leadership of a decorated Army noncommissioned officer to the work of building a healthcare analytics company where clear insights drive 5 star outcomes.

Pedro served eight years in the United States Army as an M1 Abrams armor crewman, rising through the ranks to Staff Sergeant. He led his own tank crew, setting the standard by example and taking direct responsibility for the training, welfare, discipline, and operational readiness of his soldiers, with accountability for more than $14 million in equipment. He deployed to Iraq, Jordan, and Kuwait, and brought his team through every mission with zero casualties.

His record set him apart. Pedro was named Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at Fort Riley, graduated on the Commandant's List at the Army's Senior Leaders Course, and was selected to represent his unit in the Sullivan Cup, the Army's premier tank crew competition. His decorations include two Army Commendation Medals and ten Army Achievement Medals, along with the German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency in Gold and the Order of the Spur.

Pedro is an alumnus of Florida International University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. After his service he managed a full pre-litigation docket as a case manager, coordinating attorneys, staff, and clients across a heavy active caseload.
